New Maternalisms Chile, held concurrently at the NMBA and MAC, is a co-curation from the Canadian curator Natalie Loveless and the Chilean curator Soledad Novoa. This 2014 exhibition brings artists from Europe and North America together with Chilean artists working in performance, performance-based video, and performance-based installation to examine the generative questions informing the first New Maternalisms in a transnational context.

A symposium was held at the NMBA on June 28th, 2014, on contemporary art and the maternal, featuring the exhibition curators, artists, and Dr. Jennie Klein as the symposium interlocutor. On August 27th, 2014, a launch event was held at the MAC for the exhibition catalogue.
